Qatar men's tennis team will participate in the third Davis Cup Team Championship for the (Asia-Oceania) group, which will be held in Jordan from September 13 to 18.

The team's delegation headed today to the Jordanian capital, Amman, and included the players Musa Shanan, Rashid Nawaf, Mashari Nawaf, and team captain Sultan Khalfan.

And the first player Mubarak Shanan is absent from the team due to his health conditions, as he is currently undergoing a rehabilitation period after undergoing a wrist surgery.

The "I support tennis" players had recently participated in training camps on the courts of the Khalifa International Complex in Doha, in addition to other camps that were set up in France.

The third Asian-Oceania Davis Cup group this year will be attended by teams (Malaysia, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Jordan, the Pacific, Syria and Vietnam, in addition to the State of Qatar).

Qatari player Musa Shanan said in a statement on this occasion that the team is ready to take part in this benefit, noting that the training camp with the Jordanian team will put it more in the atmosphere of the competitions.

Shannan added "the team places among its priorities not to fall into the trap of relegating to the fourth group, and will do everything in its power to provide its best level and move towards the second Asia-Oceania group."

According to the law of the International Tennis Federation, which supervises the Davis Cup, the world's major tournament for teams, the draw will be made before the start of the competitions, and the participating countries will be divided into two groups, where they will compete in the group league system. Directly to Asia-Oceania Group II 2022. The two losing teams will be relegated to the fourth group and the other teams will retain their places in the third group.
