Al-Gharafa were crowned eventual champions of the first edition of the Qatar Beach Volleyball League 2020-2021 season, volleyball.qa reported on Monday.
The final day of the tournament took place on Sunday evening at the Al-Gharafa beach stadiums, with Al-Arabi defeating Al-Rayyan, Police beating Al-Khor and Al-Shamal brushing off Al-Wakrah, ending 2-0 in all matches.
Al-Gharafa captured the top spot of the standings, followed by Qatar Club and Al-Shamal.
Al-Sadd came in fourth position with 20 points, while Al-Arabi finished fifth with 19 points. Al-Khor (13 points) were ranked sixth, with Al-Ahli (8), Al-Wakra (5) and Al-Rayyan (3) in 7th, 8th and 9th places respectively. Police (3) finished on the bottom of the standings and 10th position.
Mr Mohamed Salem Al-Kuwari, member of Board of Directors and Vice President of the Beach Committee, presided over the awards presentation. Also in attendance were Mr Mohammed Anbar Al-Nasser, Member of the Committee, and Mr Hussein Imam, QVA- Technical Expert.
