Game Preview: Warriors vs. New York Knicks - 3/18/24

The Warriors return to Chase Center for a three-game homestand, beginning against the New York Knicks on Monday. The Dubs head into Monday's contest an even 17-17 at Chase Center and 1-0 against the Knicks, beating them 110-99 in New York on Feb. 29. 

Stephen Curry (31) and Klay Thompson (26) combined for 57 points, while Draymond Green tallied a game-high-tying 12 rebounds and 13 assists in the Warriors' 128-121 victory over the Lakers in Los Angeles on Saturday. With the win, the Dubs (35-31) moved ahead of the Lakers (36-32) for ninth place in the Western Conference standings and they're now 2-1 against the Lakers this season, with one more head-to-head matchup remaining on April 9 in Los Angeles.

Curry secured his 28th win against James, leading the head-to-head battle 28-22. The New York Knicks are amidst a four-game west-coast road trip, having beaten the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday and the Sacramento Kings on Saturday before Monday's matchup at Chase Center. New York's leading scorer — Jalen Brunson — scored 45 points and 42 points in the two wins, ranking fifth in the league in scoring (27.5 PPG). The Knicks have three players who played college basketball together at Villanova — Brunson, Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo — and have gotten significant contributions from each of them. Hart recorded a triple-double in a recent win over the Philadelphia 76ers which began their current three-game winning streak, leading the team in points (20), rebounds (19) and assists (10). DiVincenzo ranks third in the league in made 3-pointers (212), only trailing Stephen Curry and Luka Doncic.
