World Champions France will take on Poland today at the Al Thumama stadium, as they look to take another step towards defending the title they won in Russia in 2018.

France reached the round of 16 following a group stage round in which they picked up two wins against the likes of Australia and Denmark, and a loss in the final game against Tunisia.

France will be back to full strength for this encounter, having rested key players such as Kylian Mbappe and Adrien Rabiot in their final group stage match. Meanwhile Poland who are into the round of 16 for the first time since 1984, will look for star man Robert Lewandowski to lead them into the next round.

Poland and France have played each other 16 times in international competition, with France winning on 8 occasions, and Poland winning just 3. Interestingly, their only previous encounter at a World Cup came in 1982, with Poland winning the game 3-2.

The match tonight kicks off at 6:00pm Doha time, with the winner set to face the winning side from the England vs. Senegal match later in the evening.
