Qatar’s Issa Shanan won the men’s category title of the 6th edition of Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) and Al Majed Group Open Tournament after defeating Ahmed Al Shami in two sets 6-4, 7-5 in the final match.
The event currently being held on the courts of the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
The event will continue till tomorrow with participation of more than 200 players including national tennis teams players.
Players are competing in diferent age categories including under 14 years and under 18 years for boys and girls, categories of women, men and pioneers.
In girls U-14, Qatar's Khadija Qasma qualified for the final round of the tournament after beating Akanansha Abhay by two groups in the semi-finals to play in the final against Qatar team player Mishael Al Khanji.
The Qatar Tennis Federation Championship and Al Majed Group is one of the local open tournaments that the Federation relies on to spread the game of tennis inside Qatar and expand the base of its practitioners, and has set a special protocol that guarantees the safety of the players and respects the rules of social distancing and public health.
