Al Sailiya faces Qatar SC in Week 3 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 17:25 at the Khalifa International Stadium.

Al Sailiya lost to Al Gharafa 1-2 in the first week but made a comeback with a 2-1 win over Al Shamal. While the team recovered in the second round and achieved a precious victory against Al Shamal, the match was dominated by physical battles but Al Sailiya stood out, with Giannis Fetfatzidis and Carlos Strandberg scoring the goals.

Despite the high morale of the side after this victory, the technical staff, led by coach Sami Trabelsi, received a shock, with their Iraqi striker Mohanad Ali "Mimi" suffering an injury. He has been ruled out for the clash against Qatar SC.

Trabelsi is keen to achieve a second successive win for his side to keep up the good form and not struggle as it did last season, where they faced the threat of being relegated.

Qatar SC, in contrast, lost to Al Arabi in the first round 0-2 in a match that saw the expulsion of their striker Sebastian Soria.

In the second round, Qatar SC went down to Al Markhiya despite leading by a goal, scored off a penalty kick by their newcomer Badr Benoun, till the final minutes. Iraqi Aymen Hussein of Al Markhiya scored towards the end forcing a draw result on Qatar SC.

Yousef Safri, the coach of Qatar SC, is well aware that the one point earned through the draw does not satisfy the team's aspirations and hopes of the fans of Qatar SC, and therefore the side will enter Monday’s match with the only aim of fetching a win and collecting the three points.

Meanwhile, Al Wakrah will take on Umm Salal at 19:35 at the Al Thumama Stadium as both teams will enter the match seeking a victory.

Al Wakrah are looking to bounce back after their 1-1 draw in the last round against Al Gharafa.

Al Wahrah had scored over Al Duhail 4-2 in the first round and have four points to their tally to be in second place in the standings.

Umm Salal are down the table being ninth having gained a point against Al Sadd through their 1-1 draw in the second round. Umm Salal therefore would be keen to score their first victory of the season.

Al Wakrah and Umm Salal teams’ matches are always friendly and exciting, and this is what happened last season, when they exchanged wins in strong contests.

Al Wakrah, who have made a resounding start to the new season, will seek to maintain their momentum and achieve a second victory this season.

Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez relies on his players Lucas Mendes, Murad Naji, Saud Al Nasr, Mohammed Ramdan, Mohammed El Abbasi, Gelson Dala and Omid Ebrahimi.

As for Umm Salal, they would be looking forward to a win to enhance their position as they had lost 0-1 to Al Ahli in Week 1.
