The Qatar Swimming Association has started preparations to organize the fifth round of the 2021 Swimming World Cup, from Oct. 21 to 23, at the Hamad Aquatic Sports Complex.

The first two rounds of the tournament, which were scheduled in China and Singapore last month, have been canceled, with the third round to be held in Berlin from Oct. 1 to 3, the fourth in Budapest from Oct. 7 to 9, and the fifth round in Doha from Oct. 21 to 23, and the sixth round in Kazan from Oct. 28 to 30.

All four rounds will be competed in 25m-pools and will act as a qualifier for the postponed 15th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) to be held in Abu Dhabi (UAE) from December 16-21, 2021.

Last year's World Swimming Championships was canceled, in order to ensure the safety of athletes in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
