The Asian Handball Federation announced the schedule of the matches of the 18th Asian Women's Championship, to be held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, from Sept. 15 to 25, qualifying for the World Championships in Spain at the end of this year.
The tournament will be held with the participation of 12 teams divided into two groups, the Qatari team will play in the first group, which includes South Korea, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Uzbekistan, while the second includes Jordan, Japan, Iran, Kuwait, Palestine and Syria.
Qatar will start its campaign in the tournament by meeting Kazakhstan on Wednesday, Sept. 15, then playing with South Korea on the following Thursday, and meeting with Hong Kong on Saturday, Sept. 18, and with the Uzbekistan team on the following Sunday, before to conclude its matches in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 21 against Singapore.
The first and second of each group qualify for the semi-finals, which will be held on Thursday, Sept. 23, while the rest of the teams will play the matches to determine the places from the fifth to the twelfth.
The top six teams qualify for the World Championship, which will be hosted by Spain at the end of this year.
