Al Arabi SC won the Qatar handball cup for the first time in its history, after beating Al Duhail SC 30-28 on penalties. The two sides drew 26-26 after the two halves concluded.
Al Arabi started the match much better and managed to finish the first half 14-9, a comfortable five goals ahead of Al Duhail. The latter however fought back in the second half and managed to equalize. But it wasn't to be for Al Duhail, they failed to complete the comeback and Al Arabi won on penalties.
President of Qatar Handball Association Ahmed Al Shaabi handed the trophy and the golden medals to Al Arabi's players and staff. Assistant Secretary-General of the association handed the silver medals to Al Duhail.
