Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan and his accompanying delegation visited Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor on Monday, one of the stadiums that will host FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
He was accompanied during the visit by HE Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) Hassan al-Thawadi, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC CEO Nasser al-Khater, project manager of Al Bayt stadium at the SC Mohamed al-Amin Ahmed. The President toured the stadium and was briefed on its facilities and services.
The President said he was impressed with the development of facilities in Qatar, as well as with the preparations for hosting the World Cup 2022. He added that he expects Qatar to host an exceptional edition of the World Cup. He also praised Al Bayt stadium, saying that the fans are very close to the field which will help create a great atmosphere.
He also said he was impressed with the Qatari national team's preparations which sees them participating in the European qualifiers, and hoped they give a good account of themselves in World Cup 2022.
