CB gives local golfers the chance to play with the Pros during the Pro-Am Qualifier Open

Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, and Education City Golf Club have completed the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Pro-Am Qualifier Opens. These qualifiers, which have been held through January and February 2021, gave local golfers the chance to qualify for the prestigious event. Overall, six qualifiers were held with over 800 golfers participating in total.  

The qualifying events not only saw adult golfers participating but a dedicated tournament for young junior golfers was held, giving them the chance to play with a tour professional. The golfers qualifying in the tournament produced impressive scores and featured 3 eagles and 254 birdies in total during the events.

Michael Braidwood, General Manager at Education City Golf Club, said: “This is the second time we host qualifiers into the CB Pro Am, and once again it has been an outstanding success with over 800 golfers aiming to qualify of the Pro AM. The Pro AM gives local golfers and members the chance to have a once in a lifetime opportunity to play alongside the European Tour professionals.”

Commenting on the matter, Hussein al-Abdulla, EGM and Chief Marketing Officer at Commercial Bank stated: “Playing in Commercial Bank Pro-Am tournament with leading professional golfers is a dream for many golf enthusiasts. As we are always looking at ways to provide more playing opportunities for our customers and general public, the introduction of this new pro-am competition is another example of how we are fulfilling that pledge.”
