QNA

Qatar Olympic Committee's (QOC) second edition of the Padel Tournament 2020 will kick off Tuesday, with the participation of 304 players, and will run until Saturday.

Participants in the tournament whose competitions will be held in Al Sadd Sports Club were divided into three categories, as eight teams will play in category (A), 48 in category (B), and 96 in category (C).

The Olympic Committee allocated prizes for the winners of the first places, as the first winner in category A gets QR 6,000, the second QR 4,000, and the third QR 3,000, while the first winner in category B receives QR 4,000, the second QR 3,000, and the third QR 2,000, in addition to in-kind prizes for the first three places in category C.

The QOC organized the first edition of its Padel Tournament last year with participation of 96 players.

QOC's organization of the Padel Tournament comes within the framework of strengthening its role in social responsibility and raising awareness of the importance of practicing sport for a healthy and disease-free life, as the main goal of the Olympic Committee.

The game of Padel is a sport that combines the best elements of tennis and squash. A Padel court is smaller than a tennis court. It is one of the most popular sports in the world, especially in Spain.
