REGIONAL CULTURAL DIVERSITY CONFERENCE

The regional conference on Cultural Diversity, under the theme ‘Culture: Bridges of Dialogue and Understanding’, has commenced today at Qatar National Museum under the assistance  of HE Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports.

The two-day conference is organised by the Ministry of Culture and Sports in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) with the participation of senior officials and representatives of ACD countries.

HE the Minister of Culture and Sports and the Secretary-General of ACD, Bundit Limschoon, address the opening of the conference.

The first session of the event observed discussion on cultural diversity and its impact on Asian societies by Dr. Majid Al Ansari. Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar, former minister of foreign affairs of Malaysia, spoke about the diversity of people and cultural diversity in a country.

Khosro Sahibzadeh, Ambassador of Tajikistan, discussed the impacts of cultural diversity; and Fatima Al Rumaihi, CEO of the Doha Film Institute, talked about the cultural Diversity in Asia.


The second day will highlight “Communication and Rapprochement among Asian Cultures: Changes and Impacts”.
