The fifth edition of Katara Boxing Championships concluded in the presence of Sheikh Fahd bin Khalid Al Thani, President of the Qatar Boxing Federation (QBF), and Sultan Hassan Al Jamali, Secretary General, QBF, recently.
The event featured 108 participants from several clubs, namely: The Victory Club, Doha Sport and Art Club, Franc Boxing Club, Al Jamiliya Club, The Tourist Club, Alpha Sport Club, Ninja Club, Time Sports Club. Pugilists from the Qatar Boxing Federation and Amman-based club also took part in the event.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Deputy General Director, Saif Al Dosari along with Major General Khalifa Mubarak Al Khulaifi, the former QBF President, Saud Aziz Al Shammari, Muhammad Yousef Al Muhammadi, an international referee, as well Kazakhstan’s Olympic figure Mukhtar Khan.
The preliminary rounds were held on Feb 16 while the semi-finals took place on Feb 17. The final round and presentation ceremony was held on February 18.
