Lusail Stadium has been listed among 23 stadiums competing for the StadiumDB website’s “Stadium of the Year Award”.
StadiumDB’s annually-held “largest online stadium awards” has asked users to identify five stadiums, rate them on a five-star scale, and submit their ratings to the website.
Lusail Stadium hosted the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 final, and was the historical crowning-stage for Lionel Messi and his Azzure squad after beating France in the final.
The 23 stadium shortlist features stadiums from every continent in the world, with 12 of them hailing from China.
Qatar’s Lusail Stadium, and Iraq’s Al-Minaa and Al-Zawraa stadiums are the only nominees from the Arab Gulf region shortlisted by the website.
Voting on the website will last until midnight of the March 14, 2023.
