HH the Amir Sword Showjumping and Dressage Championship Kicks Off

The three-day of the 13th edition of HH the Amir Sword Showjumping and Dressage Championship kicked off today at Qatar Equestrian Federation's main racecourse with two rounds of dressage.

Maryam Ahmed Al Buainain won the first place in the first round of the first level, Maryam Ahmed Al Simit came in the second place, and Jessica Waldon in the third place.

Sheikha Al Jawhara Al-Thani won the first place in the second round of the second level followed by Khaled Sanad Al Nuaimi in the second place, and Angel Tony came in the third place.

The competition will continue on Friday with three rounds of showjumping the first small round at a height of 100 - 120 cm, followed by the medium at a height of 120 - 135 cm, and the grand round at a height of 135 - 145 cm.

The final day of competitions on Saturday will start with a small round at a height of 100-120 cm, then the second grand round on the golden sword from two rounds at a height of 135-145 cm, followed by the medium round and conclude with two rounds for future riders.

Showjumping and dressage championship is the most prominent annual event in the calendar of the Qatar Equestrian Federation & Modern Pentathlon (QEFMP) for 12 years, and it comes in conjunction with HH the Amir Festival for horse racing and endurance, The championship is expected to witness strong competitions over three consecutive days in showjumping, dressage and future riders, which are being arbitrated according to the regulations of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
