Portugal take on Switzerland tonight in the final fixture of the round of 16 at this World Cup.

Portugal qualified from the group stages as the top team in their group, after defeating Ghana and Uruguay, and losing their final game to South Korea via a last minute goal scored by Hwang Hee Chan.

Switzerland qualified as the second place team in their group behind Brazil, after defeating Cameroon, losing to Brazil and defeating Serbia in a thrilling match which ended 3-2.

The two nations have faced each other nine times in previous World Cup competitions, with Switzerland winning 3 of those matches, Portugal winning 3, and the remaining matches ending in a draw. Their most recent World Cup faceoff was in 2016, with Switzerland winning 2-0.

The match tonight takes place at the Lusail Stadium, and kicks off at 10pm.
