Argentina take on Mexico in a Group C match at this year’s FIFA World Cup at Lusail Stadium.
After Tuesday’s shock-defeat to Saudi Arabia in their opening match, Argentina are under pressure for a win.
If Argentina fail to safe-guard a win, it will mean a humiliating, early exit from this year’s tournament.
This is a do-or-die match for Argentina. A win is a must if they want to stay afloat.
Argentina and Mexico have met 20 times before, with 14 wins for Argentina, two for Mexico, and two draws.
Mexico saw a goalless draw with Poland on Tuesday, showing-off their defensive skills. Moreover, goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, appearing in his fifth World Cup, saved a penalty from Poland’s Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski.
According to FIFA rankings, Mexico are a far better team than Saud Arabia, coming in at 13, with the latter coming in at 51.
Kick-off is at 22:00 Doha time.
Argentina line-up: Martinez, Montiel, Otamendi, Martinez, Acuna, De Paul, Rodriguez, Di Maria, Messi, Mac Allister, Martinez
Mexico line-up: Ochoa, Moreno, Araujo, Montes, Gallardo, Chavez, Guardado, Herrera, Alvarez, Vega, Lozano.
