Qatari icon Ghanim Al Muftah celebrates sharing the stage with Morgan Freeman

Qatari YouTuber Ghanim Al Muftah shared a photograph of himself with Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman on Twitter, after the duo starred in the World Cup opening ceremony at Al Bayt Stadium on Sunday evening.

Al Muftah, who is an ambassador of the FIFA World Cup, is known for his motivational speeches and social media presence, featuring on TEDxQatarUniversity in 2018, aged 16, to talk about his condition, caudal regression syndrome.

Caudal regression syndrome (CRS) affects the development of the lower half of the body, which can include the spine, limbs, bladder, bowels, and gut.

Given very few chances of survival by doctors, he has managed to live beyond his fifteen years.

His story has served to amaze and inspire people by being a prominent and exceptional example for youth and disabled people across the world.

Sharing the stage with Freeman at Al Bayt Stadium ahead of the FIFA World Cup opening, Muftah recited verses from Quran to share the message of diversity and acceptance.

With over 1 million followers on Instagram, Al-Muftah aims to study Political Science at university, with the goal of becoming a future Prime Minister of Qatar.
