Katara announces entry methods for easy access to visitors from today

The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, has announced methods for easy access to the Cultural Village starting Tuesday (November 15) until December 18, 2022 as part of its preparations for the vast number of programs and activities accompanying the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 which will see a large number of visitors.

The mechanism guide has also been announced on Katara’s social media accounts. It indicates that all visitors' cars will have access from 8am to 1pm while only cars with entry permits to Katara will be allowed to enter from 1pm onwards. These include the following categories: employees and workers at the Katara Cultural Village as well as participants of events, delivery cars for restaurants and shops located within Katara as well as taxis, limousines and hotel residents in the neighborhood cultural area.

As for the honourable visitors, they can enter the areas where they are allowed by using the parking lots designated for visitors' cars. These are as follows: The first area is on the southern side of the Katara Cultural Village with a capacity of 2,000 car parking spaces. The second area is near the energy building with a capacity of 600 car parking spaces. Gathering points have also been identified to transport visitors to event areas within Katara using designated golf carts.

The public can also reach the Katara Cultural Village using the metro. There are two metro stations that connect the public to the cultural district – the Al Qassar Station and Katara Station.

The Katara Cultural District Foundation meanwhile continues to put the final touches to its preparations to launch its activities accompanying the 2022 FIFA World Cup. On November 19, the Katara Traditional Dhow Festival’s 12th month-long edition will be launched with the participation of the State of Qatar and eight friendly and brotherly countries: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, Iraq, Yemen, India, Turkey, and Tanzania.

It should be noted that the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, has prepared a diversified festive program, comprising approximately 51 main events and 300 sub-events to entertain, regale and immerse visitors with different cultural tastes and expectations in various fields of arts and creativity, reflecting Katara’s constant keenness to be a meeting place for different cultures and people.

It comprises a collection of marine shows, cultural, artistic and traditional activities, competitions, workshops for children and craftsmen and other activities with a special focus on the maritime heritage of Qatar besides special performances and operettas by folk troupes.

Decked up in artistic best, Katara’s Cultural Village sports a colourful and vibrant look with flags of the qualified nations at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 adorning all its streets, corners and promenade. Katara has been one of the most sought places in Qatar for people to click selfies and pictures and during the World Cup it will continue to be the souvenir place with the Katara Hills providing the picture-perfect backdrop.
