Team Qatar fencers claim another bronze medal at Islamic Solidarity Games

Qatar's women's fencing team claimed the bronze medal in the foil event at the fifth Islamic Solidarity Games on Wednesday.

In the semifinals, team Qatar consisting of Lina Al Buenain, Haya Diyab and Sarah Diyab lost to Uzbekistan to settle for third place.

Wednesday's bronze medal brought Qatar's tally of medals to 12 including 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 5 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, the Qatar archery team including Ahmed Al Abadi, Farhan Abdulrab and Abdulaziz Al Obaidi qualified for the quarterfinals where they lost to Indonesia.

For her part, Qatar's Dhoha Al Habashi will participate in the women's artistic gymnastics event to be staged on Thursday while Abdullah Babaker and Khalid Hassanain will take part in the men's 84 kg karate event.

This fifth edition of Islamic Solidarity Games is running from 9th to 18th of August with participation of approximately 6000 athletes from 58 countries.

The state of Qatar is participating in 14 sport disciplines, including basketball, volleyball, handball, cycling, athletics, swimming, shooting, Taekwondo, Judo, Karate, weightlifting, wrestling, fencing and gymnastics.
