Qatar's Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan in action during their opening match of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Doha Challenge at Al Gharafa Beach Courts yesterday.
The Olympic bronze medallists, Cherif and Ahmed got off to a flying start at the home event yesterday by winning both their Preliminary Phase Pool A matches.
They defeated Latvia's Edgars Tocs and Kristians Fokerots 2-1 (20-22, 28-26, 18-16) in their first match.
They were later put to test by World No:19 Spanish pair Pablo Herrera Allepuz and Adrian Gavira Colladolater in their second match of the day, but the World No.1 Qatari pair prevailed with a 2:1 with a scoreline of 22-20, 19-21, 18-16.
